A BIT ABOUT MARK...

Raised in an entrepreneurial family in the small town of Cambridge, Ohio, Mark Benson graduated from Pennsylvania State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing, as well as his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Having vacationed on Hilton Head Island as a child, Mark returned to Hilton Head in 2001 to pursue a career as a golf professional at Colleton River, which led to an opportunity to join locally owned Lighthouse Bank as a Financial Consultant. Following the sale of Lighthouse Bank to SunTrust Bank, Mark became a Financial Adviser and Executive Vice President with the Merrill Lynch Global Private Client Group and the Wealth Management Group at South State Bank (formerly South Carolina Bank & Trust). Mark then joined his father in forming Mattmark Property Company, a privately held oil & gas Real Estate development company, as Executive Vice President and Director of Business Development where he found his passion for Real Estate, Real Estate investing and association management. After over a decade with Mattmark Property Co., Mark now leverages his extensive knowledge of the Real Estate industry, coupled with his financial expertise and exceptional negotiating skills, to manage a portfolio of IMC’s associations, where he has been since in 2018.

​A Hilton Head Island resident for 17 years, Mark is an enthusiastic member of the community and enjoys golf, tennis and spending time with his 3 sons.
